Exhibitions
They include photographic, video and installation works. These works will be selected following a call for entries. An international exhibition featuring works by artists from Africa and the African diaspora on the festival's theme. This category will also include works by the festival's special guest artists, a monographic exhibition celebrating the work of early Cameroonian portrait artists, and a national exhibition highlighting young Cameroonian artists seeking international recognition.
Workshops and creative residencies Introductory photography workshops will be organized during the festival. These activities are part of the SnapShot project, which aims to bring light and hope to street and under-schooled children by offering them the opportunity to take part in photography training, so that they can witness their immediate environment.
The creative residency will involve young African photographers or visual artists living in Africa. It will be led by one or more professional visual artists (photographers) and will focus on contemporary artistic creation. The aim is to equip young African photographers to better prepare them for biennials and other festivals organized in Africa and the rest of the world. It will be structured around portfolio presentation, modern techniques, and the language and vocabulary of contemporary artistic creation.
Conference-debates
These public meetings will take place in the conviviality room of the National Museum. They can be held face-to-face or by videoconference. It's an opportunity to discuss photographic practice and its many implications for art and society, as well as technical and technological developments. They will bring together professionals, artists, academics, curators, exhibition commissioners and all those interested in the medium. Participants will be given the opportunity to express their views on the prospects for photographic art.
